Hi! It's a lot of art, and there's been a few different artists working with me on the project (Including art I've done myself) over the progress. Recently Drakes offered to do all the character sprites to keep them consistent, but a rehaul of the backgrounds and CGs would simply be too much work for me to afford. Apart from me wanting to keep the CGs different artists have made for the game, I like the charm and it kind of makes me happy to have art from different friends in my game!
Seeing how the last update was ~70 days ago, is there an estimated time for the upcoming story update ?
Not trying to rush you or anything like that. On the contrary, I would be very glad to wait patiently for an update as long as it takes to come. But I guess I'm just a curious kind of person 😅
Sadly not. I've focused a lot on my health instead of pushing updates etc. I do a lot of background work and thinking I might change directions and release pretty much the full game or so next time instead.
Only thing I can promise is that I'm still working on it!
They're a bit taller than your average human, but the human's shown on screen are also generally not tall for humans. John is up there at 7ft, and he's probably the tallest.

Btw well done work with the Novel and the soundtrack. I also like the philosophical discussion with Rex and the others. That makes this Novel even more standout/special.
I'm really enjoying this, but I think I found a bug. I'm on chapter 3 of Mike's route and I'm at the part where you talk to him during a break at the observation deck, but the background keeps flashing between the actual background of space and just white nothingness.
Thanks for the report, I'll take a look! Are you on mobile or PC/MAC? Do you remember if you're on HighGFX or LowGFX (if you open the Preference menu it should say)
Looking into this further it appears I'd flipped the decider for high/low gfx, which in turn loaded a transparent video on LowGFX mode for this scene; this can cause issues if with flashing white lights, especially on phones (which is where the possible flashing lights disclaimer comes from).
I've edited the transparent video for the next update to not ever flash completely white, but rather flash the stars. No way around the flashing, but hoping this will be less impactful. Thanks for bringing this to my attention, I really appreciate it!
Yes! Been waiting and playing since before the visual update, such a great story with great characters. John is one of my favorite characters in any VN ever, such a big lovable badger! Excited for more (and more John by default), keep up the good work and good health!
There's a few new bugs. I got one of those exception reports at one point (first chapter?), the tiger route seems to loop forever (forgot his name), and I can't check out John's sprites after going through his route.
The new art is quite nice and matches the old art well. Thank you for your awesome work!
Charles' route doesn't loop, it just brings you back to route choice, because it's not implemented yet. (at least that's how it is on Android version, but i assume they are all the same content wise)
Thanks for the bug reports! I've fixed the sprite viewer issue for John's intimate scene, and the minigame. Charles' route isn't available yet, so it loops back to the selection after the initial sequence on purpose. It'll be available come next update /G
I just silently liked dt before, but i can't be silent about this. It's perfect! Character sprites improvements are nothing short of art miracle (well maybe i kinda liked better the brighter Rex, but he got improvements to compensate for that as well)! Now i have yet another reason to be sad about being unable to support my favorite devs with anything except 5 star rating. T_T
Yep! There's a dev log that talks more in depth, but it's a code and art update. All sprites are now made by Drakes. There's also a few new songs by Camazule.
Glad to see you're still chugging along, hopefully you make sure to take time away from work and development to relax and reset yourself! We all need breaks when the burnout kicks in afterall!

I *want* to release Charles route for Ch3 this month, and then hopefully I've caught up on life enough for bi-monthly releases. Most of Ch.4 is already done, but I want to make sure it's all set up as I want it with the pure amount of content and updates in it.
I'll put it in the gallery so people can check it out, and barring time I'll put in an option to switch back in the actual game as well. (It will come, I just can't promise it for the next update, at the latest in the one after that.)
I'll do another teaser tomorrow. Other than that, I plan to release the update containing Charles' Ch3 sometime this month. That'll include new sprites for all the characters seen in the VN so far.
Drakes has been working hard to make it all happen, I'm pretty excited to be able to show it all off soon.
How do you think Gen z will handle the specter? For me I think we'll take it well since gen z are pretty pragmatic and see things in reality but I don't know until I experience it myself tho,but what do you think?

Hey bud- I'm not Grunt, but I think I might be able to help with your predicament. Ignore "Universal" for now. Unless you have an Edge device or have an emulator, ignore "For Emulators or Edge Devices". "Newer Devices" option & "Older Devices" option is pretty self-explanatory- if your phone is a newer type, download the newer one, & if it's an older phone, download the older one. If you're not sure if it counts as either one, go with the "Newer Devices" option first.
Yep! Above is correct! Thanks Ness! The split has to do with older android OS, most devices will take any of the versions and run just fine. If you're unsure and your phone is from 2018 or later, go with "Newer Devices", otherwise try older devices.
If it doesn't launch, try the Universal one, and if it still doesn't work, try the edge device one.
In the future, I'll just be building two android builds that should fill both spaces. /G

Hi there, I know it's a bit annoying with the lack of updates. I'm still working on DT but I can't promise a release date, however what I can promise is that when the update is out, it'll be back to a bi-monthly update schedule until the VN is done.
Aside from that, there's some massive art additions already done that I think most people will enjoy.

Hi there, I've been having some personal troubles so I can't give you an ETA. I'm still working on it, but I don't dare promise a time at the moment. On the bright side, when it does come, it's a big update. And probably the penultimate one.
If you go into Preferences & Enable it, there is some in the Mike route and a bit more in the John route. Eventually, there'll be NSFW content for all routes (if the option is enabled, of course.)
You've done a great job with this so far! John and the MC relationship moving a bit faster just fits John's character. Mike's route goes slower and it fits Mike's character. You've made it so those who like fast or slow can enjoy the story. I'm looking forward to seeing what you'll do with Charles.

I have been and currently am in a rough position with my day job and I've had to prioritize staying afloat more than DT. I am however more recently back into the groove of things. I had planned on updating at the end of this month, but due to illness at my workplace I had to push it to next month.

I first decided to remove you from my discord server after seeing you use other creators social media (itch) for advertising your content without consent and spreading what I percieve as toxicity.
I have noticed that this seems to be due to some arguments between you and some other creators, and while I am not really involved I can't help to see the thinly veiled threats and underhanded actions made.
As creators in an indie community such as the FVN community, I believe it's our responsibility to help each other out remember that we're all a bunch of passionate people gathered around the same genre of content.
At the same time, we're all responsible for our own platforms and the communities we build around them.
While there's always bound to be drama and arguments, and I understand that there's always frustration and anger at things others do (I get frustrated, too), taking to using each other's platforms as a vector of attack, as a creator, is in my opinion not acceptable.
On that note, from what I gather you have already taken this with discord and twitter support.
If you feel you've been treated in a ToS breaking way, instead of these threatening comments and "attacks", letting the site admins deal with it is the proper way of things.
Now: after your request I have decided to remove the ban from my discord server, feel free to join again. However, please note that subtle threats and toxicity is not something I want around my platform. I believe in forgiveness and building instead.
Remember, being defensive is not the same as being "offensive back".
Finally, I've opened up my DMs (twitter & discord). Feel free to contact me directly if you feel the need.
Since I work full time on top of working on DT, it's been a lot. Things happened and stacked up, eventually I burned out, so I've been taking a longer break trying to regain some energy.
Hopefully I'll be back working properly on DT next week, without being as burnt out.
Rotshild does the bulk of the code himself, I just poke him in the right direction if he gets stuck. It's very giving to help other VNs out, and leads to some extra inspiration for my own stuff!
This is the best. Here's hoping for more Maddox and all the nice blokes. Who knows what might happen on that confined ship? I could end up being used for sex by all those burly guys. How dreadful.
