A weird comparison but this got me thinking about In Rainbows if you've heard that album. They just share similar themes of loss, suicide, yearning for something you cant have, etc.
I really enjoyed how Owen became a friend to Arthur instead of a romantic partner. It was a refreshing change of pace from the typical "love conquers all" troupe. It's a great reminder that you need all types of people in your life, not just your significant other.
The story focuses on other themes that go deeper and beyond smut, and it does an amazing job at it, so it doesn't need to rely on any sex scenes
