Burnout & DT Updates

Hi there!

It's time for an update on DT Development, kind of.

So, I've recently gotten a medical diagnosis for burnout. Not regarding DT, but rather my day job and life as such. One of the things on my plate to recovery is to focus less on work and more on my creative time; so in this case DT.

Now, while my full focus will be actual recovery I've also decided on sort of a time line to get more focused on what actually brings me energy rather than drains it.

So, going forward this is how the DT update schedule will more or less look.

Coming Update
First, I'll release an update as soon as the last 2 remaining sprites for Chapter 3 are done. This update will be minor edits to the existing story, and all the sprite and code updates. Most of this is already done, and this update should be out a day or two after the actual sprite images are finished.

This will be all the new code, the sprite viewer, gallery code, and music room as well as all the new art and menus. The only new story content will be updated memory sequences for the memories that are already released.

Next, hopefully not too long after that update I'll release Charles ch.3 This is mostly written already, but I still need to expand the actual scenes in the script and add in more flavor.

After that, my hope is to release a monthly or bi-monthly update for the rest of the game with one character/chapter at a time Ch4. (Mike -> John > Charles). -> Ch5.  Depending on energy, and how the burnout recovery goes. After all, recovery first -> game second.
The cool part is that most of the art and all the music needed to finish the game is already finished.

So in short, still alive. Some rough patches in life but I'm not giving up on DT regardless of how slow I am.

Look after your own health, I hope you can pull through, feeling that drag to do things is rough. Just do your best and don't let it ruin anything you love. Take your time and I'll look forward to good news

I've been down to the burnout road once about a decade ago and almost a second time a couple of years ago, after which I teetered on the edge a lot until I reached the current phase of apathetic disinterest. Now I just drag myself from one (work)day to another.

Dunno if your situation is the same but I tend to get a huge bursts of energy when my focus switches to some new thing... and then I burn up all that energy in a flash and end up feeling guilty about failing to keep up with the pace.

What I guess I'm trying to say is... take your time and don't push yourself if you feel like you can't hit the update goals you set for yourself.

Anyhow. You know yourself best so take this advice with a grain of salt...

I don't care how slow you can  update as long as you can continue that's fine by me  but do take care of yourself okay, it's fine to take a break sometimes and hope you recover fast.
